Conduit Riser Diagrams for Connected Engineering Workflows

Build a riser diagram from the studio’s own BOM — headend, trunk and branch runs to each device — and size the conduit from the cables each run carries.

// What It Does

What you can do with it.

Described from how the product works today.

  • 01

    Seeded from the BOM

    The diagram starts from the studio’s live BOM: devices become runs you can edit, so the riser reflects the equipment you are actually pricing.

  • 02

    Headend, trunk and branch runs

    See the whole path from the headend along the trunk and out to each device, with a tag on every run.

  • 03

    Conduit size from cable fill

    Choose a conduit type and trade size, add the cables in the run — from the BOM’s cable products or typed in — and see the fill percentage, whether the run passes the fill limit, and the next size that fits.

  • 04

    Pull-box checks

    The calculator also flags a run’s bends and length for pull-box checks, so long or twisty runs show up while you design.

  • 05

    Linked to heights and schedules

    A run linked to a BOM row follows that row’s installation height, and the riser can sync with the Cable Schedule.

  • 06

    Ready to issue

    Set the page size and title block, then export the riser as a PDF or PNG.

Good to know. Fill figures are a design aid for the engineer. Confirm conduit sizing against the standards, codes and local requirements that apply to your project.

Where to find it in the Studio

Conduit Riser (“Conduit runs & sizing”) is one of the design modules of every Studio, alongside the Cable Schedule it can sync with.

// Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What is a conduit riser diagram?
A riser diagram shows how conduit and cable runs connect a headend or equipment room to the devices it serves, so installers can see the routes and sizes. In the Platform it is one of the drawings in a Studio.
Where do the cables in a run come from?
From the cable products in the BOM, using each product’s diameter, or typed in by hand.
Does the riser check code compliance?
No. It reports conduit fill and flags pull-box checks as a design aid. The engineer remains responsible for confirming the design against the applicable standards and codes.
